Hey, Washington, does The People ring a bell?

You can rightly accuse me of being liberal on most subjects (say, who's up for naked Twister?), but when it comes to the Constitution, I am an old school reactionary. You see, unlike Harry Reid and the rest of the Senate stooges, I believe in the ideals and freedoms set forth in that document. I believe in Habeous Corpus (even if I can't spell it), I believe in requiring 'probable cause,' against 'unreasonable searches and seizures,' as well as the rest of the rights and freedoms bestowed by the Constitution and Bill of Rights (Heck, I believe in the Right to Bear Arms, even though that clause was only added to appease racist Southern Plantation owners).

So I was shocked and dismayed when the Senate Democrats passed Bush's FISA bill virtually unchallenged and unchanged. Even Barrack caved on the issue so as not to appear soft on National Security. Well, I—like these progressive bloggers and libertarians—am tired of our representative government gutting the very document they profess to uphold, and further constraining America's individual liberties.

Harry Reid, right along with the Bush Administration, is complicit in selling out our country's ideals and values under the false guise of national security. To paraphrase a forum poster on Digg: "Let's vote them ALL out of office, and if the next group isn't any better, then they have to go, too."

It's time to make government answerable to the people it represents, not to big corporations or other big money interests.

UPDATE: WTF? the House of Representatives had secret sessions about FISA (the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) back in March? This is virtually unprecedented since 1970, and bodes ill for Americans who aren't keen on Martial Law. Watch the video below to see Dennis Kucinich stand up for The People:
