Cost of the War in Iraq
Is America's "loving God" really a hater?
According to a CNN report, the esteemed Rev. Fred Phelps and his flock of easily deluded, religious simpletons are convinced that U.S. deaths in Iraq are due entirely to our tolerance of the homosexual lifestyle.
Members of this Topeka, Kansas "church" routinely picket funerals of military personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, carrying signs such as "Thank God for dead soldiers" and "God hates fags."
Wow.
Understandably, the father of a fallen soldier, Albert Snyder, was upset by these Baptist boneheads' presence at his son's funeral and sued them for invasion of privacy and intent to inflict emotional distress.
Outside the Maryland court house, church members held up signs that said: "God hates fag enablers" and sang "God Hates America" to the tune of "God Bless America."
Today, however, the jury and judge handed Mr. Snyder something to dry his tears a little. Namely, eleven million dollars.
Apparently, God hates Westboro Baptist Church, too.
