I’ll be honest: I didn’t know Anthony Bourdain was a chef.

Anthony Bourdain:

I'll be honest: I didn't know Anthony Bourdain was a chef. I mean, I knew he went to fancy and ate a lot of on his reality shows, but I honestly didn't know he was anything more than a dickish host. Well, he's got a new TV show coming out where he's…and I'm guessing here, a dickish travel host.

Bourdain's new show is on the hard-to-find-for-good-reason Esquire Network called, “The Getaway.”

I'm going to record it because, at the very least, he's a somewhat funny guy, and I get a fair amount of pleasure from yelling “Hey, we've been there!” to my wife when he goes somewhere we've been.

And, while we fancy ourselves pretty well traveled (see anywhere else on TheCrosbyReport™), Bourdain has a crapload more frequent flyer miles. So when he offers some tips on traveling, we're all ears.

Notably, we're on the same page on the problem of carry-on luggage:

“I check my luggage. I hate the people struggling to cram their luggage in an overhead bin, so I don't want to be one of those people.”
