A list of government offenses Conservatives should really be upset about.

Not that I am a fan of the slow, inexorable erosion of our Constitutionally protected freedoms or Rosie O’Donnell, but I am a fan of calling bullshit, bullshit. And lately, there’s been more bull feces flying around than at a rodeo after a dysentery outbreak. So in that pursuit, I offer Rosie’s list of offenses perpetrated by the Bush Administration that Conservatives didn’t seem to mind:

When I was a kid, we drove cars that ran on gasoline, I shit you not.

Finally, someone has figured out a way to put electric cars on the road fast, and en masse. From an article in Wired Magazine, this guy, Agassi, (no relation to the tennis player, I presume) is setting the whole system up in Israel right now in cahoots with automaker, Renault. The company's called Better Place, and its idea is based on the cellphone business model where you subsidize the cost of the car, and then charge people only for the cost of the electricity they use (kinda like buying "minutes").

Merry Xmas, you lazy plagiarists.

A few years back, I was surprised to learn that nearly everything I'd been taught in Bible School about Christmas was, to be blunt, a bunch of lies. Frankly, I’d be surprised if Christian officials were too keen on the actual truth getting out since it makes their religion seem...oh, what's that phrase? Right, “made up.” In actuality, many of the Christmas "traditions" Americans celebrate were co-opted from, of all people, those nutty Pagans. Here's a rundown of Christianity's disappointing lack of originality:

When I was first introduced to the concept of Astrology as a kid, I was skeptical. After all, believing that the position of the planets and stars could impact your life in any meaningful way, let alone dictate your daily behavior, seemed...what's the word? Oh, yeah, stupid. But the more I learned about this ancient "science," the more I came to feel that people DID seem to reflect the personality traits predicted by their sign. But how? Finally, I read the book that empirically and scientifically explained how and why Astrology really works.

Go rent the Mike Judge movie, "Idiocracy," from Netflix, or your local video-store (just not Blockbuster—they probably won't have it since it has anti-establishment themes). It's an insightful look into the future of Mankind (assuming we continue on our present heading into oblivion).

The plot involves an average moron from our time who is cryogenically frozen for thousands of years until he thaws out to find the world in ruins and disarray. Thanks to over-breeding by idiots, reality-TV and junk food, the world of the future is populated by mouth-breathing dolts (and if you find that premise far-fetched, watch this video).

Our hero then finds himself in the unenviable position of being the smartest man on a planet of morons. Hilarity, and more than a little despair, ensues.

I wanted this movie to be great.

Sadly it wasn't. Great premise, bad horrible acting and story. I was so depressed after watching it, since I generally love most things Mike Judge does. Ow my balls.
